Girls Only Goes Red for Women

Girls Only creators Barbara Gehring and Linda Klein participated in the American Heart Association's Speak Up! event on Saturday at Macy's. The task of the day was to listen to women's stories about how heart disease has touched their life, to get their stories on camera, and to ultimately identify women who can encourage others to speak up to save lives.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, so the AHA hopes that the more we speak up about this disease, the more empowered others will be to talk to their doctors and make healthy changes in their lives.

Barbara and Linda joined survivors and radio personalities to form a 5-person interview panel to speak with the Colorado women who came in. The day was at once touching, saddening, empowering and eye-opening.

Find more ways to get involved and speak up.

Also on hand Saturday was Tracy Register, Miss Colorado International...and as it turns out she's a fan of Girls Only!
